HOW IT ALL STARTED
Jewelry has always been my passion. It's one of the first things I notice on/about people when meeting them for the first time. In college, I was pursuing a degree in metal arts (jewelry making) until my parents caught on and decided a girl from Des Moines, Iowa would be better suited with a business degree.
While working on the metal arts degree, however, I had the chance to begin work at a local, family owned jewelry store that had been around for 125 years. After a few months at the customer service desk, they granted me the opportunity to sit at the bench and apprentice under their two master jewelers. It was the best education I received. So, while I did go on to get the business degree, I still have a love for jewelry design and fabrication.
Currently at ElevenEleven Designs, I'm focusing on the Vintage Jewelry Collection. This collection consists of rings, earrings, cufflinks and hair accoutrements made from vintage costume jewelry, vintage buttons and other vintage materials. It's all part of my Reduce | Reuse | Recycle mantra.
